Danville transfers access lane to county to complete Old Stamford Road work

The Danville City Commission approved a resolution dedicating a portion of a city-owned access lane on Old Stamford Road to Boyle County so the county can complete an upgrade.
City staff explained the segment of road lies on the same side of Ball's Branch as the city's property and has functioned as an orphaned access lane used by adjacent properties, including a church. Dedication of that portion of the access lane to the county will allow the county to finish the road upgrade, staff said.
A commissioner characterized the lane as “an orphan street” that had been under city ownership for a long time and said dedication will facilitate completing the county’s work. Commissioners approved the resolution by voice vote.
No purchase price or compensation was discussed on the record; the action was presented as a property-dedication to support the county’s road upgrade work.
