Landmark Mall redevelopment to include Inova hospital, officials say; project pages and outreach available online

Council members told residents at a town hall that redevelopment of the former Landmark Mall parcel in Alexandria will include an Inova hospital with a helicopter pad and a mixed‑use plan that includes housing, retail and expanded green space.

“Half of the parcel … will be the Inova Hospital. The other half will be primarily housing with retail and commercial spaces and a significant green space,” Vice Mayor Bagley said, directing interested residents to Inova’s project page (Inova.org/landmark) for development documents, including community‑review submission materials.

Council members said the city maintains project pages for major developments and issues press releases and planned outreach as projects move through the city’s review and permitting processes. On Stevenson Street redevelopment, council members said the project had been approved years earlier and they would follow up with direct links for residents seeking further detail.
