Art Center asks for operational support as campus expands; ballroom restoration work begins

The center said ballroom restoration began in April and will proceed in phases.
The Art Center requested city assistance for utility reimbursements (anticipated roughly $18,000 for the coming fiscal year), $10,000 to subsidize expanded janitorial contracts and $5,000 toward a facilities/maintenance hourly contractor (proposal described as six hours per month at approximately $60/hour, budgeted as part of a $15,000 request). The center said facility maintenance needs have grown with the expanded campus and historic buildings dating to 1908–1909.
