Franklin commission adopts two rezoning ordinances and a fiscal-year budget amendment; third rezoning also approved

The Franklin City Commission at its regular meeting approved three rezoning ordinances and an amendment to the fiscal year 2024–25 budget.

The commission voted on two rezoning ordinances by roll call and approved a third budget amendment after a separate roll call vote. The two rezoning measures drew unanimous support; the budget amendment passed 4–1.

The first ordinance, No. 2025005, rezones roughly 10 acres in the Stone Givens Industrial Park from I-2 (Heavy Industrial) to B-5 (Interstate Interchange Business) as requested by Stage 1 LLC. The commission approved the second rezoning, Ordinance No. 2025006, rezoning approximately 22.19 acres on Nashville Road from B-2 (General Business) to B-4 (Highway Business) as requested by ARC Properties LLC. Both ordinances passed on second summary reading by unanimous roll call votes.

The commission also approved Ordinance No. 2025007, an amendment to the city’s annual budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2024, and ending June 30, 2025. The ordinance was adopted on second summary reading and, per the city clerk, will become effective upon passage and publication; a full copy is available from the city clerk. The budget amendment passed by roll call 4–1; Commissioner Bush registered the lone “no.”

All three ordinances were read on second summary reading and approved during the meeting. City staff said the full ordinance texts and supporting documents are available from the city clerk’s office and on the city’s website.

Copies of the adopted ordinances will be published as required and can be requested from the city clerk during normal business hours.
