The Washington County Board of County Commissioners adopted the final Municipal Service Benefit Unit (MSBU) rate resolution for Sunny Hills, approving a 5 percent increase.
The new assessment is $40.72 per developed residential lot. The resolution also sets $10.16 per acre for residential acres and $10.16 per 1,000 square feet for commercial and institutional buildings. County staff noted a statutory or ordinance cap that limits increases to a maximum of $52 over a 10-year period; the current rate remains below that threshold.
During the public hearing Anita Crittendon of Greenhead, Florida, asked where the public hearing had been advertised; staff said the notice appeared in the newspaper. After closing the hearing, the board moved to adopt the final rate resolution and the motion passed by voice vote.
