Washington County commission approves minor subdivision at 3320 Crystal Lake Drive

The Washington County Planning and Zoning Commission voted unanimously May 5 to approve a minor subdivision that will create a 1.08-acre parcel from a 2.5-acre parent parcel at 3320 Crystal Lake Drive.
Jennifer Ink, planning assistant for Washington County, presented the application on behalf of county planning staff and said the request met public noticing requirements and that the county held a neighborhood information meeting on April 10, 2025. "The request is to create a 1.08 acre parcel from a 2.5 acre parent parcel," Ink said, and added that planning staff recommended approval.
The commission held no public comment on the item; Ink said no neighbors attended the neighborhood meeting and the county planning department received no telephone calls or emails in opposition. Chair John Gay then called for a motion, and the commission moved, seconded and voted by roll call to approve the staff recommendation. Recorded yes votes came from District 1 Commissioner Roger Hagen; District 2 Commissioner Richard Kindy; District 3 Commissioner Michelle Cook; District 4 Commissioner Carl Owens; District 5 Commissioner Jared Higgett; School Board Representative Kyle Newsom; and Member at Large Chairman John Gay.
The approval authorizes the minor subdivision as described on the application. Planning staff noted the item had met procedural notice requirements; no additional conditions or attachments were recorded in the meeting minutes.
