Commission approves small parcel rezoning to agricultural for Mansfield Landscaping nursery

The Board approved a rezoning request to change a 1.14-acre parcel on County Road 48 in the Yelaha area from R2 (residential) to agricultural zoning to accommodate expansion of an existing plant-nursery and landscaping business.
Planning staff said the property is surrounded by agricultural zoning and the proposed use is consistent with neighboring properties and the county comprehensive plan. The applicant’s attorney, Dr. Leonard Roman, told the board the owner intends to use the site for growing and outdoor plant storage and that the owner will not apply for any marijuana-cultivation license. Planning & Zoning had recommended approval unanimously.
No members of the public spoke in opposition. The board approved the rezoning during the consent/discussion phase and wished the applicant well as he expands operations.
