Commission approves rezoning of 1013 West Spring Street from commercial to single-family residential

Planner Sergio told the commission that the property is currently used as a single-family residence and does not fit the C-1 commercial zoning. Staff said they had contacted neighboring property owners on Boundary and Dougalay streets to offer the same rezoning opportunity and that the amendment is intended to “clean up” mismatched zoning lines that do not align with property boundaries.
Sergio said the situation likely resulted from past mapping errors and that the commission had directed staff to help residents correct similar mismatches. No members of the public spoke on the request. The commission voted to approve the rezoning, and the recommendation will go to the City Council for final action.
