Liberty Hill introduces Tiffany Turpin as new senior planner; staff assign subdivision workload

Tiffany Turpin, the city’s new senior planner, will take over subdivision site-plan reviews, staff announced during the meeting.

The announcement came as meeting staff explained that “This is Tiffany Turpin, our senior planner. So, the majority of the items that you'll actually see on this agenda, her name's on it now. So she's taken over all of her subdivision site plan matters,” and that Nate Kuyall is currently covering sign and zoning applications. “We're gonna train him up, to do those other applications that she's doing later on in the future,” staff added.

The staff member who introduced Turpin said the planner previously worked on subdivisions at the City of Austin and noted the planning office is fully staffed. “We stole her from the subdivision team. Yeah. So that's very exciting,” the staff member said.

Staff also reminded the group of calendar items: a PNC retreat on April 12 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and a downtown revitalization open house on May 3 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Forest Coffee to discuss the downtown master plan. Meeting staff asked members who plan to attend the open house to notify Jessica so the city can issue a notice of a possible quorum.

Two public hearings were announced for the next meeting: a subdivision-variance request for a Whittlesey project involving a waterline extension, and a notice sent for the Veil Trap ordinance. Staff said the owner of Roosters on '29 and January called with questions and was satisfied after staff clarified the ordinance notice.
