The Missouri City Council voted unanimously Monday to authorize a $2.6 million contract with Construction Masters of Houston to build a replacement maintenance facility for the Quail Valley Golf Course.
Shashi Kumar, director of public works, said the existing golf course maintenance building is worn and that the replacement facility will be at 2935 Blue Lake Lane, adjacent to the Quail Valley water plant. Kumar said the new facility's design incorporates neighbors' concerns about visibility and that the city will provide landscape screening along the fence line.
Kumar told the council the low qualified bid from Construction Masters came within the budgeted estimate and that funding was included in the 2021 bond program. Council Member Emery moved to authorize the construction contract; Council Member Boney seconded. The motion carried unanimously.
Kumar and council members discussed timelines: staff said the project is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2026, after which the existing building will be demolished. Kumar told the council he expects the new facility to serve the city's needs for more than 10 to 15 years.
