David Goldberg, president and CEO of Mon Health and Davis Health System, told the Harrison County Commission that Mon Health has its building permit and will begin equipment installation and site work Monday for a new hospital in Bridgeport.
Goldberg said architectural, engineering and design work are complete and that the developer was approved previously to shell a second story for future clinical or administrative expansion. He thanked the commission, the city of Bridgeport and local bond partners for their assistance and said Genesis Partners and bondholders helped clear land and financing issues. Goldberg said a public groundbreaking ceremony is expected in the coming weeks.
The brief public comment came during the meeting's public-comment period and was informational; no county action was required.
Goldberg framed the project as similar to other local facilities and said the hospital campus has land for future growth as community needs evolve. He asked for continued local support and indicated coordination with the city for a future public appearance.
