The club presented checks to several local groups, listing amounts in the meeting record including $2,000 to Asbury Park Little League; $500 to Asbury Park Boys & Girls Club; $500 to Big Brothers Big Sisters; and $300 to local rescue organizations. Representatives of beneficiary organizations briefly described their missions; a Boys & Girls Club representative said the organization provides services to about 300 local children daily and about 1,800 annually and cited a mix of grant funding and private donations for their operations.
Council members thanked the club and nonprofit speakers for their work.
