At the April 22 meeting, the Tenafly Mayor and Council voted to introduce Ordinance 25-15, "Establishment of a Municipal Pool Utility," and set the public hearing for May 6, 2025, at 7:30 p.m.
The ordinance moves forward to a public hearing and is the next formal step in establishing a dedicated municipal utility for pool operations. The council formally introduced the ordinance on a motion made by Councilman Park and conducted a roll-call vote.
Omar (municipal clerk) read the ordinance title before the roll call. The roll-call record in the meeting excerpt shows the following recorded responses at introduction: Council member Corsaire ' yes; Council member David ' yes; Councilmember Michaels ' yes; Councilmember Dr. O'Connor ' yes; Councilmember Bart ' yes; Councilmember Rolla ' yes. The motion to introduce the ordinance passed.
The council set the ordinance hearing date for May 6, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. or soon thereafter, at which time the public will have an opportunity to speak on the proposed municipal pool utility ordinance. The introduction does not itself adopt the ordinance; it places the ordinance on the agenda for a future public hearing and final vote.
