On the consent calendar the council moved and approved a block of resolutions (R25-199 through R25-246) addressing routine municipal matters; one change-order resolution for the swim-club project (R25-195) was called separately and recorded a roll-call vote in which one council member registered a “no.” The council also introduced the 2025 municipal budget by resolution (R25-198) and set a public hearing on the budget for Aug. 6, 2025 at 8 p.m. in the council chambers.
The council unanimously approved a resolution appointing Pat Mason as the borough’s public works director (R25-247). Pat Mason was invited to stand and was welcomed by council members; his official start date was announced as May 1.
A filming request from a production company to extend permitted filming hours was discussed; council members said a resolution granting extended hours would be on the next agenda so staff can confirm noise-ordinance compliance and any police/traffic needs.
Ending: The ordinances adopted and the appointment of a new department head complete near-term municipal governance actions; the council set a public hearing on the municipal budget for August and scheduled several items for forthcoming agendas (nature-center request, tree-appeal hearing, RFP circulation, filming resolution).
