The council also adopted a proclamation declaring April 25, 2025, as Arbor Day in Fergus Falls. The proclamation noted Arbor Day's origins and encouraged tree planting and stewardship. The mayor signed the proclamation and reminded attendees that Fergus Falls is a Tree City and regularly undertakes tree planting and maintenance activities.
Both items were approved by council as noncontroversial recognitions; no formal votes beyond the consent to approve the proclamation and the presentation were required.
