Food service staff reported a monthly surplus of $60,850 for March and a year-to-date surplus of $64,559, the operations committee heard April 21.
Mister Bondi said the district served 66,809 meals in March and expects about $149,577 in combined federal and state reimbursement tied to those meals. State reimbursement for free breakfast and lunch at the reduced eligibility level for March was reported as $2,015.70 owed to the district.
Bondi provided participation rates: elementary breakfast participation at 23.9%, middle-school breakfast 9.9% and high-school breakfast 8.0%. Lunch participation rates were 50.7% at elementary, 54.4% at middle school and 44.4% at high school.
Document items and inventory summaries were presented (documents 4.2.0.1 through 4.2.0.8). With no questions raised, the committee moved by unanimous consensus to forward the food service reports (document 4.2) to the full board for consideration.
No changes to meal pricing or program eligibility were proposed at this meeting.
