Board directs legal action to correct Colliers/Langan contract language referencing Lyman Hall site

Board members raised discrepancies between the project documents and the board’s February 28, 2023 vote to consolidate to a single high school without specifying a site. Several contract attachments and site analyses still reference Lyman Hall; members said the wording is causing public confusion.
Board member Missus Reinis said she had fielded public concerns that documents and attachments repeatedly name Lyman Hall as the site for construction even though she said the board’s vote did not fix a location. "It says on 02/28/2023... the high school would be located on the current Lyman Hall High School site," she said, and asked the administration to reconcile the written record.
Board members and staff discussed whether that language in the facilities consultant services proposal was included to give bidders a common assumption for pricing. Operations participants said bidders were given a site reference so proposals could be estimated on the same basis; that, combined with variations among bidders, produced pricing differences.
Superintendent Belizzi said she had spoken with the consultant Langan and with the district’s attorney. She told the board Langan "is honoring the prices and what they have said, and that it's not for a location which is Lyman Hall." Belizzi offered to ask the consultant and the board’s attorney to revise the document or issue an addendum to clarify that the current work is not for Lyman Hall and to reflect a broader or neutral site scope.
After discussion, the board voted to "take the proper legal action" to reflect the current work under the facilities consultant services and Colliers contract — wording that could include a revision, addendum or amendment as counsel advises. The motion carried on voice vote.
Board members asked the superintendent to follow up with the attorney and the consultant and report back when the legal correction or addendum is complete.
