Superintendent Dr. Wright used the April 22 meeting to list several spring calendar items and community events and to announce a scheduling change for the board's reorganization.
Wright said Teacher Appreciation Week is the week of May 5 and that the district provides donuts on the Wednesday of that week on behalf of the board. He also said the board’s reorganization and seating, originally planned for April 22, will take place at the next meeting because the county clerk had not canvassed election results yet. A retiree celebration is scheduled for May 8 at McKenree Country Club, Wright said.
Wright reminded the board and public that the district’s Special Olympics track meet is set for May 2 at McCracken Field, with a start time of about 9:45 a.m., and encouraged attendance. He also thanked staff involved in the district’s celebration of the arts and praised the district’s wrestling programs during his remarks.
No formal board action attached to these announcements; they were presented as informational items in the superintendent’s report.
