The canvass reported winners as: Leslie LaMarca (two-year unexpired term); Christine Birkett, Alyssa Lindmark and Patrick Malala Jr. (regular terms). The board motion directed that the canvassing results be reflected in the meeting minutes.
After the canvass was accepted, the board invited Alyssa Lindmark and Patrick Malala Jr. to take their places on the dais and administered the oath of office. The oath as recited referenced the Constitution of the United States, the Constitution of the State of Illinois and the laws of the State of Illinois; the newly seated members completed the oath sequence before the board.
The acceptance of the canvass and the swearing-in were the formal actions taken to certify the April election results and seat the newly elected members. There was no recorded dissent or roll-call opposition to the canvass acceptance.
