The council approved an ordinance naming Field 6 at Lithia and Driveway Fields as Greg Jones Field to honor the former parks and recreation director’s 41 years of service to the city. The council also approved a code amendment (Council Bill 2025-31) to clarify that the terms city treasurer, finance director and chief financial officer in the municipal code and charter refer to the same position.
Two intergovernmental agreements with the Oregon Department of Transportation were also approved on the consent calendar. One agreement authorizes safety improvements at the Highland Drive and Barnett Road intersection by widening an existing single right-turn lane to a dual right-turn lane; the other covers ADA ramp upgrade work on Highway 99 at Sage Road and Lowry Lane. Staff said the ADA ramp work stems from a statewide ODOT program that responded to a lawsuit and settlement requiring ramp upgrades; ODOT will perform the work on that state facility and the city will assume responsibility for impacted rights-of-way after completion.
Councilors voted on individual consent items as well as the full consent calendar; roll calls recorded unanimous or near-unanimous approvals where stated in the meeting minutes. The council did not remove any of the listed items for separate debate beyond clarifying questions.
