Grapevine proclaims February as Career and Technical Education Month

The Grapevine City Council proclaimed February as Career and Technical Education Month, honoring programs in Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School District that provide hands-on training and industry-recognized credentials.
The mayor read the proclamation noting that CTE programs in GCISD include pathways in health care, information technology, engineering, agriculture, manufacturing, law enforcement, business, cybersecurity and transportation, and that CTE links secondary and postsecondary education to workforce needs.
Stephanie Speakes accepted the proclamation on behalf of the district and thanked the council. "Honestly, I think you summed it up beautifully. Thank you so much for honoring Career and Technical Education Month as the month of February in the city of Grapevine," she said. GCISD attendees introduced themselves at the podium: Katie Wallach and Charity McConnell (CTE coordinators), Dr. Holly Ray (chief of schools), Kathy Spradley (GCISD school board treasurer) and Nicole Lyons (executive director of communications).
The proclamation encourages community recognition of students and industry partners supporting CTE pathways. The council did not take additional action beyond issuing the proclamation.
