Grapevine council approves $49,000 furniture purchase for Dove Waterpark and Sprayground

The Grapevine City Council approved the purchase of replacement furniture for Dove Waterpark and Dove Sprayground from Telescope Casual Furniture, at an amended amount of $49,000, staff said.
Park staff explained that initial budgeting included furniture for both Dove Waterpark and Pleasant Glade Pool; for the coming season the city will replace furniture only at Dove Waterpark and Sprayground, which reduced the purchase price to $49,000.
A Parks and Recreation staff member summarized the change during the council discussion: "When this was initially entered... we took in a quote for Dove Water Park and Pleasant Glade Pool... This for this summer, our intentions are only to make the change out for Dove Waterpark And Sprayground." The staff member said the amended figure reflects removal of Pleasant Glade Pool from the current purchase.
Council moved and approved the amended purchase by voice vote. Meeting minutes show the motion carried; a roll-call tally was not read into the record during the discussion.
The item was listed on the consent agenda but considered separately after staff flagged the change in scope and cost. Staff identified Telescope Casual Furniture as the recommended vendor.
