Council approves athletic‑club exterior repairs and conference‑center construction manager amendment

The Addison City Council approved two consent items at the end of the meeting: an agreement for exterior repairs at the Addison Athletic Club and an amendment to the construction‑manager contract for the Addison Conference Center remodel.

Council approved a contract with Gutter Solutions of Texas LLC for exterior repairs at the Addison Athletic Club, authorizing the city manager to execute an agreement “for an amount not to exceed $76,135.33.” General Services Director Bill Holley told the council that testing identified mold behind exterior walls and that remediation required removal of damaged sheathing, installation of modern moisture barriers and re‑setting the brick. Holley said the work will allow interior repairs later and estimated roughly two weeks of contractor work plus weather‑related delays.

The council also approved an amendment with Line Industries (construction manager at‑risk) for the Addison Conference Center remodel. Staff said the construction portion of the project is just under $1.5 million and that total project funding — including furniture, fixtures and equipment — remains near a $2.0 million allocation with approximately $500,000 for equipment and furnishings. Staff told council the construction manager provided a guaranteed maximum price and staff recommended issuing a notice to proceed; a substantial completion target of August 31 was included in the project schedule.

Both items passed on voice votes with no recorded opposition. The council moved on to items of community interest and adjourned.
