The City of Weatherford Planning and Zoning Commission on March 12 unanimously approved a text amendment to Title 12 that revises subsection language describing the responsibilities of the planning director.
City staff characterized the change as clarifying and conforming language to better reflect administrative responsibilities in the zoning ordinance. “This is another zoning ordinance amendment to Chapter 1… we will be clarifying the responsibilities of the director,” the presenting staff member said and recommended approval.
No members of the public addressed the item during the public hearing. A commissioner asked staff to summarize the changes and, after brief discussion, the commission moved, seconded and passed the item without objection. The amendment will be forwarded to city council for final adoption under the standard ordinance process.
Staff noted the revision is principally editorial and intended to align text with current administrative practice; it does not add substantive new powers beyond those already present in the code.
