Arlington council completes canvass of May 3 charter propositions and bond election

City staff presented finalized versions of two canvassing resolutions: one for charter amendment propositions and one for the bond election. Staff told the council final vote totals and the resolutions were at each member’s place for review.
For the charter amendment canvass (item 12.1) the council approved the resolution on a motion by Councilmember Pham, seconded by Councilmember Odom Wesley. For the bond election canvass (item 12.2) the council approved the resolution on a motion by Councilmember Hunter, seconded by Councilmember Gonzales. Council staff said the certified results will be included in the official meeting minutes and in the final canvass documents.
The canvass resolutions formalize the election outcomes and complete the statutory steps required to record election results. The resolutions and the final vote totals will be available in the official record of the council meeting and through the city’s published minutes and election documents.
