Arlington council approves consent agenda including ordinances, contracts and grant resolutions

The Arlington City Council on April 24 approved its consent agenda, which included 20 minute orders, three ordinances and 11 resolutions authorizing a range of contracts, purchases and grant-related actions.

Staff summarized the consent agenda as authorizing annual requirement contracts for services (fire sprinkler testing and repair, plumbing, pavement marking installation, pavement leveling, speed cushions), engineering and construction contracts for Entertainment District sidewalks (phases 2 and 3), change orders for Julia Bergen Park Veil Connection, purchase orders for parks resale items, purchase of vehicles for city departments, software maintenance, and furniture and equipment for the rebuilt Fire Station 8. The consent list also included sole-source purchases for police barricades and ammonia feeder replacements at the John F. Kubala Water Treatment Plant.

The ordinances on the consent agenda included zoning cases PD 25-17505 (US 287 Business Highway) and SUP 24-102300 (Southwest Green Oaks Boulevard) and an amendment to the fire prevention chapter adding fee collection for hazardous material incidents. Resolutions included a hazardous material incident fee resolution, PY24 CDBG reprogramming, multiple Texas Department of Transportation grant authorizations (selective traffic enforcement operations, Click It or Ticket, commercial motor vehicle grant), and authorization of a competitive procurement method for roof replacement at the Arlington Expo Center. The Arlington Economic Development Corporation modification for East Space architect services and compensation adjustments for council appointees also appeared on the consent agenda.

Council Member Hunter moved to approve the consent agenda and Council Member Peel seconded. The motion passed. No speakers registered in opposition on the consent items listed on the record.
