Council moves to include Medal of Honor Museum site in Ballpark Mixed Use PD

The Arlington City Council voted March 25 to revise the Ballpark Mixed Use planned development boundary to include the National Medal of Honor Museum site at 1111 AT&T Way.
Staff described the item as a PD revision (PD revision ZO6-40R2 / PD revision to Ballpark Mixed Use, formerly Glory Park PD) to incorporate approximately 1.5 acres north of East Sanford Street and west of Ballpark Way. The city of Arlington owns the site; Jack Hill represented the National Medal of Honor Museum as applicant but was not present at the meeting.
Ms. Thoppel presented the case and said the applicant had asked that the museum site be fully included within the PD boundary. No public commenters spoke on the item. Councilmember Galante moved to approve the boundary revision; Councilmember Hogg seconded. The clerk recorded that the motion passed.
The council's approval amends the PD boundary; the action does not by itself authorize new construction or funding. Any development or site work on the museum parcel will require subsequent approvals and permits consistent with the PD and applicable city regulations.
