Robertson Construction selected as CMR for Monroe’s new high school; kickoff meeting held

MONROE, Ohio — Monroe Local Schools announced April 28 that Robertson Construction (Columbus) was selected by the project selection committee to serve as Construction Manager at Risk for the new high‑school project.

Superintendent Mister Buskirk told the board the selection followed CMR final interviews and a short list of three firms; the committee selected Robertson Construction. He said the district and architect Fanning | Howie held an architect kickoff meeting with Robertson the previous week and that Robertson brought a team to begin project planning.

Jeremy Johnson, identified as vice president of Robertson Construction, introduced the firm and described its experience. Johnson said Robertson has completed projects in more than 42 districts and more than 100 school buildings; he added Robertson has worked on roughly 25 projects with the district’s design team, which the company cited as a positive factor for collaboration on the high‑school project.

Buskirk and board members said they were pleased with the kickoff meeting and that Robertson’s local experience and team model made the firm a strong choice. Board members did not take a separate formal vote at the meeting to confirm the selection; Buskirk characterized the choice as the result of the selection committee’s process and announced the kickoff and introduction to the board.

No contract amount or firm start/completion dates were announced during the board meeting. Buskirk said staff and the architect will continue project planning and that Robertson’s team will return for ongoing coordination.
