City planning staff updated the Angleton Planning and Zoning Commission on the kickoff of a grant‑funded comprehensive plan update and asked commissioners to apply to serve on the Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee (CPAC).
Staff said the city has received the grant to fund the update and that two applicants from the Planning and Zoning Commission have already applied. Commissioners were asked to submit applications via the city clerk’s website. Staff encouraged participation and noted the CPAC process includes visioning sessions over several months.
Several commissioners who had served on the prior comprehensive plan encouraged others to participate, saying the committee meetings required several evening sessions over a period of months. No formal action was taken; staff requested nominations and applications for CPAC membership.
Staff said the city hopes to appoint commissioners and alternates to represent long-range planning interests; the process and deadlines were summarized in materials provided to commissioners.
