Angleton council approves multiple Ashland final plats and a street dedication, adding hundreds of residential lots

The Angleton City Council unanimously approved a series of final plats for the Ashland development and a nearby street dedication at its April 8 meeting, following unanimous or near‑unanimous recommendations from the Planning Commission and resolution of city engineer comments.
Planner Otis presented five related items: a final plat for the Ashland project Sapphire Springs Trail street dedication (number 4) and final plats for Ashland Sections 3, 4, 5 and 6. Planning commissioners recommended approval for each item after the applicants addressed engineering comments and submitted response letters.
The plats approved were: the Sapphire Springs Trail street dedication (location just east of the school), Section 3 (19.43 acres, 75 lots), Section 4 (19.38 acres, 88 lots), Section 5 (22.75 acres, 102 lots) and Section 6 (52.2 acres, 62 lots). Council was told that approving Section 6 brings the total approved lots in the project to 456.
Council moved, seconded and approved each plat in separate motions; corrections to highway naming were raised during one discussion but did not change approvals. Each final plat was approved with the condition that engineering comments had been cleared and with standard plat recording and infrastructure requirements to follow.
Approvals mean the developer may proceed with final engineering and construction permitting consistent with the approved plats and any city conditions.
