Frisco certifies and adopts Home Rule Charter amendments approved by voters on May 3

The Frisco City Council on May 13 adopted an ordinance certifying and recording amendments to the City of Frisco Home Rule Charter that voters approved in the May 3, 2025, special charter amendment election.
City staff told the mayor and council that final canvas totals were calculated that afternoon, emailed to council members and posted to the City of Frisco website. According to the staff report, propositions C, E, F, G, H, I, K, L, M and N passed, while propositions D and J failed.
The ordinance the council approved provides for the recordation and certification of the charter amendments “as required by Texas law,” a City staff member said. Councilmember Bill moved to approve the ordinance; Councilmember John seconded the motion. The motion passed 5-0.
The recordation and certification will follow procedures required by Texas election and charter law; the ordinance also authorizes the mayor and city secretary to take actions necessary to comply with those laws. The city posted final tallies and the ordinances on its website for public review.
