Council hears $65M-plus conceptual plan to widen Henderson Road; task force recommends mix of medians and striping

Angleton City Council on Jan. 14 received a detailed briefing on a multi-phase concept to widen and improve Henderson Road, a major east-west corridor, with drainage upgrades, pedestrian facilities and intersection improvements.
Staff said the plan addresses projected growth that could add about 2,200 residential dwellings with access to the corridor. The city'hired consultant work and a task force that included the Angleton Fire Department, Police Department, Angleton ISD and neighborhood representatives.
