Frisco Fire Department awarded ambulance-service accreditation; asks to return to present plaque

Frisco Fire Chief Lee Glover told the council the Fire Department and the City of Frisco have met requirements and been awarded accreditation status by the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAS), a designation held by a limited number of EMS agencies in North America.
Glover said the city is among only about 84 EMS agencies in North America with that status and requested permission to return to council on April 15 for a formal plaque presentation with the accreditation team. He credited paramedics, chiefs and the medical director for meeting the standards.
Glover also said the department partnered with the North Central Texas Council of Governments on a grant to obtain a truck‑mounted attenuator used to protect responders at highway incidents. Finally, he announced that registration for the Junior Citizens Fire Academy opens April 4; the free week‑long summer program is open to students who live in Frisco or are Frisco ISD students who have completed grades six through eight.
No formal council action was recorded on the report; the chief offered to return for a plaque presentation in April.
