Pinal County approves HUD annual action plan process; staff warns allocations are pending federal decision

The Pinal County Board of Supervisors voted May 7 to approve the county's fiscal year 2025 annual action plan process for potential U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development funds, including CDBG, HOME and ESG programs, while county staff cautioned the board that actual dollar allocations have not yet been received from HUD.
Heather Patel of the Office of Budget and Finance told the board the county must submit an action plan by May 15 under HUD rules even though the county typically does not receive its official allocation until later. "We have not received that yet. So we do not know how much or if any funds will be passed down to the county," Patel said.
