Ravalli County commissioners on April 14 received three bids for herbicide application and related weed-control work and voted unanimously to forward the proposals to the county weed department for review and recommendation.
The bids were read into the record by county staff. A bid from Alta Plant Management of Hamilton listed $500 per eight-hour day for labor, $12 for a 7-ounce dose of Milestone plus surfactant/dye and $7.50 for a one-ounce surfactant/dye. A second bid, from Man With a Plan Handyman Service LLC (owner Logan Nelson), offered $425 per man-day, $20 per 7-ounce Milestone plus surfactant and $6.50 per ounce for surfactant. A third bid from Michael Ritchie listed $500 per day, $15.89 per 7-ounce Milestone and $0.41 per ounce for surfactant and dye.
Commissioners moved and seconded to forward both sets of bids to the county weed department for evaluation and recommendation. The motion passed on unanimous voice votes recorded as three ayes.
No public comment was recorded on the motions. The commissioners said they would await the weed department's recommendation and expected to receive the department's report on Thursday.
