Board approves OCSBA bylaw and resolution package over lone dissent

Trustees earlier reviewed the proposed changes in an information session. At the vote, Trustee Michener moved for approval and Trustee Gleber seconded. During discussion Trustee Mishner explained his lone “no” vote by saying he disagreed with several specific language changes in the package — notably provisions that he said would allow the board to accept grammatical changes without fuller review — and that he preferred the items be returned for further consideration.
The motion carried 6–1. The board did not identify statutory citations attached to the OCSBA package during the meeting.
