Following an executive session on personnel, legal and contractual matters, the board voted to approve the superintendent’s employment, reassignment and resignation recommendations; HR reported hiring progress.
ORANGEBURG, S.C. — After meeting in executive session May 13 to discuss personnel recommendations, legal advice and contractual matters, the Orangeburg County School District Board of Trustees returned to open session and approved the superintendent’s recommendations for employment, reassignments and resignations.
The board moved and seconded the motion to approve the superintendent’s recommendations and, when asked for a voice vote, Dr. O’Quinn said, “In favor.” The chair announced no one opposed and the motion carried.
Human Resources reported updated contract-and-agreement numbers the same evening: Jesse Holliday, human-resources staff, told the board that as of 12:00 p.m. that day the district had distributed 1,837 contracts and agreements, had received 1,744 acceptances, nine rejections and 84 non-responses. Holliday said the HR office will follow up with individuals who have not yet acted and that non-response would be treated as a resignation if not resolved.
The board approved the personnel items as presented from executive session; the motion did not list individual names in open session beyond the board’s voice vote.
