The Mayor and Council on March 10 introduced an ordinance amending bond ordinance No. 2022:07 (as previously amended) to add installation of security cameras at the Department of Public Works yard as an authorized capital purpose and reappropriate previously authorized but unspent bond funds.
Council discussion said the DPW director confirmed the HVAC work that originally held the unspent funds is complete, leaving available capital that can be repurposed. Council members said the request covers new security cameras at the DPW (mentioned in discussion as a $25,000 expenditure) and that reusing the previously authorized funds avoids incurring additional debt.
The ordinance was introduced on first reading; the public hearing will be at the council’s April 28 meeting.
