The Mayor and Council of the Borough of New Milford voted on March 10 to adopt an emergency appropriation ordinance authorizing $40,000 for preparation of the borough’s MS4 stormwater infrastructure map.
The clerk read the ordinance as an emergency appropriation pursuant to the statute cited at the meeting. The council opened and closed the public hearing with no members of the public speaking, then moved to adopt the ordinance on final reading. A roll call vote recorded affirmative votes from Councilwoman Samuelson, Council President Duffy, Councilman Grotzky, Councilman Seymour, Councilwoman Grant and Mayor Petrino; the ordinance was adopted.
The ordinance states the appropriation is a special emergency appropriation for MS4 stormwater infrastructure mapping; work on the mapping project was described elsewhere in the meeting as scheduled to begin with a meeting between the engineer and borough personnel.
