Public works staff told Rutherford's Mayor and Council on March 10 that the borough's athletic field synthetic turf is installed and paving work will restart in early April.
Brian (staff member) reported that the synthetic turf installation is complete and the borough is waiting for a supplier to cut and install sod; he said the borough expects to release the field around April 15. He also said paving would resume April 1 when asphalt plants reopen and that the borough will follow with the 2025 paving program, coordinating with PSE&G work to minimize repeat disruptions on streets where utility work affected last year's schedule.
Brian said the borough updated a flood prevention ordinance and sent the revision to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and the Federal Emergency Management Agency for review; the council will review the revision and the changes will be incorporated into the borough's stormwater/flood-control ordinances after agency review.
No formal vote or directive accompanied the updates; the items were informational reports from staff during the meeting's public works update.
