The Rutherford mayor and council on Jan. 13 approved the consent agenda, confirming multiple provisional hires, a recreation hourly hire and the borough's 2025 committee and board roster.
Council President McGowan moved to enact the consent agenda; the motion was seconded by Councilman Guzman and carried on a roll-call vote. The consent agenda approved the following provisional appointments, all effective Jan. 14, 2025 and made "in accordance with the rules and regulations of the New Jersey Civil Service Commission": Michelle Centrillo as Clerk 2; Aaron Petruzino as assistant purchasing agent; and Natalie Gagliardo as Clerk 3.
The council also approved a recreation hire listed in the minutes as "Will Fencing, Basketball, at $15 per hour." Council members approved the 2025 committee and board appointments as presented in the attached roster. The clerk noted the engineer's report will be held until the next meeting and that resolution number 49 was removed from the agenda.
Council President McGowan said she intended to record that she planned to abstain on item 20 from the prior Jan. 3 reorganization meeting and asked that intention be reflected in the minutes. The council did not record any other abstentions during the Jan. 13 consent vote.
All appointments approved at the Jan. 13 meeting were presented as provisional and subject to Civil Service Commission rules. No public hearings or contested votes were recorded during the consent motion.
