Tinton Falls recognizes student artists and volunteers; announces EarthFest date and LED sign installation

Sen. Vinh Gopal joined the Tinton Falls Borough Council to recognize resident Juliana Finkelstein for a mural honoring the Wayside Fire Company, and council members presented an acknowledgement to volunteer Paige Trump for her work raising heart-health awareness.
Gopal praised Finkelstein’s artistic work and said the mural includes details visible to the fire company and the community; he noted the artist balanced the project with school and extracurricular commitments. Council members and visiting officials presented plaques and copies of official salutations.
The council also heard reports from borough staff. Mr. Nath, the borough power engineer, said a new LED monument sign is being installed in front of Borough Hall this week; the double-sided sign will be closer to the traffic signal and will display meeting notices, holiday messages, recycling reminders and emergency notifications. Mr. Tarafanko, the business administrator, and Council members announced planning is underway for the borough’s anniversary celebration to be hosted at Sycamore Park; officials said volunteers are needed to help with preparations.
Councilwoman Buckley told the council the Environmental Commission now meets at 7 p.m. and that EarthFest (the town’s Earth Day event) is scheduled for Saturday, April 26 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Sycamore Park.
During public comment, Ellen Goldberg of Glenwood Drive announced the library children’s fashion show will not be held this year and publicly thanked the environmental commission and the green team for their work on EarthFest planning.
The council offered the recognitions near the start of the meeting and proceeded to regular business afterward.
