Council awards rescue apparatus contract below ordinance authorization; approves architectural and engineering professional services

A council speaker thanked Rescue Company 5 and firefighter Anthony Mezzo for leading negotiations that produced a lower price. The borough identified the vendor as Pierce for the apparatus purchase.
Administrator Eric Maurer reported that Resolution R63‑2025 (award of a fire rescue vehicle) authorizes purchase using funds previously approved by bond ordinance 23‑62; the final price was reported to be substantially below the bond ordinance authorization.
The council also approved professional services: Boswell Engineering for the 2025 road program and Copa & Montalbano (architectural firm) for municipal building renovations to accommodate the police department and second‑floor space vacated by the Board of Education (Resolution R66‑2025). The council packet included a memorandum describing the competitive selection process for the architectural award.
