The Madison governing body unanimously approved on first reading an appropriation of $500,000 from the General Capital Improvement Fund for roadway overlay projects.
Ordinance 6-2025, an ordinance appropriating $500,000 from the General Capital Improvement Fund toward a $2,025,000 overlay program, was moved, seconded and advanced at the March 10 meeting. Council conducted a roll-call vote for the first reading; all present members voted yes: Council President Rachel Ehrlich, Council Members Landrigan, Range, Honehan and Forte, and Council Member Monahan.
Officials said the ordinance is part of the capital budget plan laid out in December and that the vote advances the ordinance to the required public notice and hearing steps. No discussion of specific street locations or contractor awards occurred during this agenda item; those details are expected as part of future project procurement and implementation steps.
