Committee clears environmental review step for process-control building, will relay forms to supervisors

The Washington County Public Works Committee voted in April 2025 to forward environmental assessment paperwork for the multifunctional process control administration building project to the full Board of Supervisors and to proceed toward a technical negative declaration if no adverse impacts are identified.
Sewer District staff said the county completed coordinated review and received responses from agencies with no opposition. "What we have done the coordinated review... We received a couple responses. None are in opposition of our, you know, seeking the agency and the project," the staff member said. Staff asked the committee to relay the environmental assessment forms — parts 1, 2 and 3 — to the full board so that part 2 could be read aloud at that meeting and part 3 discussed if questions arise.
Committee member Dave moved and committee member Platts seconded the motion to forward the documents. The committee approved the motion by voice vote with all in favor; the motion carried.
If the Board of Supervisors finds no adverse environmental impacts at the full meeting, the county will recognize a technical negative declaration for the project and proceed with permitting and design steps, staff said. The committee did not report any agency opposition during the coordinated review at the time of the meeting.
