MANSFIELD, Texas — The Mansfield City Council on Feb. 24, 2025 approved several contracts, funding authorizations and directives related to capital projects, economic development and legal action, with most votes unanimous.
Council members voted to authorize the city attorney’s office to file suit to obtain access to property at 700 West Broad Street, Mansfield, Texas, naming Reagan LLC and other necessary defendants. The motion, moved by Councilwoman Bounds and seconded by Councilman Brosch, carried 6–0.
Separately, council authorized staff to proceed on “economic development project number 2110,” as discussed in executive session; that motion also passed 6–0. Council further authorized the city manager (or designee) to negotiate, finalize and execute contract documents to purchase the property at 2314 Christopher Road; that motion carried 6–0.
On consent and routine business, the council approved the bulk consent agenda (items not pulled) by unanimous vote and later approved several individual resolutions and contracts, including: - A professional services agreement related to creation of the Arcadia public improvement district (PID) and a companion PID-creation resolution (both carried 6–0). - Construction contracts and related professional services for Fort Worth Street and Live Oak Drive drainage and reconstruction totaling about $3.63 million (carried 6–0). - Interlocal purchasing and construction contracts for park projects (Rose Park site work; Oliver Nature Park overlook repairs; McLennan Park playground replacement) (each carried 6–0). - Approval to submit a resolution of support for PK Development Group’s TDHCA tax credit application for Pecan Bend Apartments (carries 6–0 after the council amended the item from a simple no-objection to a resolution of support).
