Wimberley council swears in three members; Rebecca Minnick reelected mayor pro tem

WIMBERLEY, Texas — At a May 13 Wimberley City Council meeting, the council administered the oath of office and issued certificates of election to Rebecca Minnick, Chris Sheffield and David Cohen for the 2025–27 council term, and then unanimously elected Minnick to continue as mayor pro tem.
Judge Andrew Cable administered the oaths and handed certificates of election, after which the newly sworn members recited the oath, including the pledge to “preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution and laws of these United States” and the state. The meeting began with a roll call and confirmation that a quorum was present.
After the ceremonial swearing-in, a council member nominated Minnick to remain mayor pro tem; another council member seconded the nomination. The motion passed unanimously. The council then moved to adjourn and voted to end the meeting.
The actions completed the formal start of the council’s 2025–27 term by confirming three elected members and selecting the council’s mayor pro tem. No additional agenda items or substantive policy discussions occurred after those actions and the meeting was promptly adjourned.
