Council selects MHS Planning & Design for professional parks grant-writing services

Wimberley City Council on April 17 selected MHS Planning and Design to provide professional grant-writing services for Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) grant applications.
Parks and Recreation staff published an RFQ on March 21 with a submission deadline of April 11 and received two responses. Parks Director Richard Shaver told the council the two firms were close in qualifications but that MHS had more direct experience with TPWD and related agencies such as TxDOT, which tipped staff’s recommendation toward MHS. If council approves, staff will negotiate a contract, typically percentage-based on the grant award, and return the contract to council after legal review.
A council member moved to select MHS; the motion was seconded and passed unanimously.
