Wimberley selects Scribe Consulting to pursue FEMA flood-mitigation grant administration

The Wimberley City Council on April 3 selected Scribe Consulting to provide engineering and grant administration services for a FEMA flood mitigation grant application.
City staff explained the city could cover the required 25 percent local match for the FEMA grant with funds from a separate grant currently pending (work by Chabi Engineering was mentioned as part of the earlier pipeline). Staff said if the FEMA grant is awarded, the council will later decide whether to commit the matching funds.
Council members and staff reviewed scored responses to a request for qualifications; staff recommended Scribe Consulting. The council voted unanimously to select Scribe Consulting and authorized staff to notify the selected firm. No contract award or appropriation was adopted during the motion; the action was to select a consultant for the application and administration phase.
Staff said they will keep the council informed about both the pending pipeline grant and FEMA application outcomes; the council retains discretion whether to commit matching funds should FEMA award the grant.
