The Wimberley City Council voted unanimously on Feb. 20 to extend two temporary food-truck/temporary-structure permits in the city center overlay.
Council approved a three-month renewal for the Neon Armadillo food trailer at 13701 Ranch Road 12 (the Junk Gypsies location). Staff said this was at least the third renewal and that city code limits temporary structures in the city center overlay to three-month permits. The motion to extend the permit passed by unanimous voice vote.
The council also approved a separate request to permit the Schoolyard Dog food truck to operate behind Art On 12 at 13811 Ranch Road 12. Staff reported the applicant provided a letter from the property owner, a path to shared restrooms at the Junk Gypsies property, on-site employee access and some parking in the rear yard. Councilmembers who spoke favored the move, and the permit was approved unanimously for a three-month duration as required by the overlay regulations.
Both approvals were made as standard, temporary permits under the city center overlay rules and carry the three-month time limit referenced by staff.
